We remember her smile, the twinkle in her Italian eyes the joy of having company and the meals, drinks, snacks, and coffees.

The scents from her kitchen, onions, garlic, red sauce and wonderful roast dinners. Sweet deserts and special Christmas treats.

For husband, Jim, she followed from New York to Salt Lake City There she found friends and neighbors, who also loved flowers and food.

With sons, Jim, Mike and Paul grown and gone she let her good management and cooking spread to the rectory at St Ambrose.

Never were the priests, young, old or visitors so well fed and fussed over Mary, her special saint or was really Martha, she followed.

Her chair at the head of the family table was the place to begin a story about the girl who loved to dance, have sparking fingers and pretty frocks.

But she had a listening ear, wanting to hear what grandchildren, nieces and nephews were doing. The morning paper was the start of her day.

And now we hold you dear Mae, Mother, Friend, Sister, Aunt, and Grandmother in the pictures of celebrations, but most dearly with joy and love in our hearts.
