Carol Anne Mears

Carol Anne Mears was born January 1st, 1958, in Lubbock, Texas to Gerald and Betty Crew. She passed away due to health complications on September 29th, 2026, in Taylorsville, Utah. Carol moved to Utah with her family in 1960, after her father was transferred to Hill Air Force Base. Together with her parents and her five siblings, Becci, Curtis, Hal, Mark, and Carl, they made Utah their permanent home. Carol attended Hillcrest High School where she met her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Jack Mears. Carol and Jack were married on July 1st, 1977, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they had three children, Derek (Summer), Jared, and Sheila Foster (Zach).

Carol cherished spending time with her large family. She was a big fan of margaritas and the Dallas Cowboys. She was an active member of Murray Baptist Church and spent many Saturdays helping to organize, print, and mail the church’s newsletter in time for Sunday service.

Carol is survived by her husband, Jack, her children, Derek, Jared, and Sheila, her two grandchildren, Nora and Lincoln, her siblings, and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 24th at Memorial Murray Mortuary located at 5850 South 900 East in Murray, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church in her honor.
