Carol Elaine Munk passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, in South Jordan, Utah. She was born on April 15, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York to Helen Peterson and Chalmer Martin. She married Leon Ernest Munk on September 28, 1991.
Carol had a deep connection for others and lasting relationships. She learned Spanish so she could better communicate with her longtime housekeeper, Maria, especially during the trips she made from Santa Cruz to Salinas to take her home. She earned her real estate license and approached each new endeavor with determination and enthusiasm.
Carol had a deep love for gardening and caring for, and raising farm animals and welcoming birds, cats, and dogs. She enjoyed baking, candy-making, canning, and sewing, sharing her creativity and generosity with those around her. An avid and accomplished bridge player, she also served as director of her bridge club. During her time at Ampex, she was the activities director, bringing energy and connection to her workplace.
Carol is survived by her children Sharene Douglas, Scott Stagliano and Isaac Adams. Also survived by her stepchildren Tracey Munk, Kelly Munk (Stefani), and Kevin Munk (Gina) along with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Chalmer Martin and Helen Peterson Martin, and her sisters Dorothy Martin and Gail Maher.
Services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10:30 am with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:30 am at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 S 900 E, Murray, UT 84121. Interment at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
