Carolyn C. Lloyd passed away on February 9, 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on January 15, 1942 in Payson, Utah to Reed Luke Clegg and Naomi Harmer Clegg. She married Ronald B. Lloyd on September 5, 1959.

Carolyn took pride in her work and taught all of her children and grandchildren the importance of a hard work ethic. She worked in the health insurance field for many years and eventually became a supervisor and manager. In the late 80s, Carolyn, alongside two of her colleagues created a new company. The three of them traveled around the United States contracting with health insurance companies to conduct audits and provide business plans to increase productivity while decreasing errors in billing. Carolyn also worked for the Federal Government throughout her career, ending at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in medical records and GRAMA requests. She was always proud of her work at the VA as it was a full circle to her father’s work as a hospital administrator.

Carolyn loved to travel. She was born to it as a child raised with a father who served in the Navy. She spent her childhood in various States around the country, including: Washington D.C., Virginia, Washington, and Colorado. In later years, Carolyn and Ron, took family vacations to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Bear Lake, Utah, Laguna Beach, California, and short trips to St. George, Utah. These trips became core memories for their children and their grandchildren. Carolyn enjoyed road trips to Montana, Canada, Washington, and Texas. Also, adventuring to Nashville, and Branson. In 2023, Carolyn was able to travel to one of her bucket list locations, Scotland. She spent two weeks exploring castles, history, and the Isle of Skye.

Carolyn loved reading and passed this love of reading to her daughters and to her grandchildren. You would often find her with a historical romance, or with a grandchild on her lap reading their favorite book over and over again on demand. Carolyn also was an avid sewer and crochet numerous blankets. If you had a baby, you were blessed to receive her special baby blankets and/or one of her amazing baby quilts. Carolyn was a skilled baker, and everyone will miss her cookies, sweet rolls, and other desserts. In the past 25 years Carolyn became a confectioner, and her Turtles, Pecan Brittle, Caramels, and Divinity (among others) were legendary.

At her heart she loved to serve others. Her family affectionately called her, “The Energizer Bunny.” She was always moving. Helping others, cleaning up, cooking, baking, providing services to others. She never stopped serving and loving others.

Carolyn is survived by her children: Mindi Lloyd, David (Tina) Lloyd, and Cara (Bransley) Stephens. Ten grandchildren and ten great children; Jenny (Jason), Brendon Hulsey; Chelsie Scott; Shannon (Tony), Adam, and Benjamin Morlock; Courtney (Johnny), Luis, Aaliyah, Matteo, Dominic Medina; Barkley (Madison), Merrick Lloyd; Allison (Joe), Ledger Sibella; Danica, Trent, Curtis, Carly, Jacob Stephens. Siblings: Marcia Bean (Steve) and Kenneth Clegg (JoAnn).
