Cary Eugene Wyall, 68, passed away at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, Oct 18, 2014. He chose to remain positive and productive, even though his activities were limited by his health challenges. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 8, 1946, to Gene and Mary Anna Martin Wyall. Cary grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and spent many summers at his Grandpa's cabin on Manitoulin Island in Canada. He graduated from high school in 1965 and immediately joined the Navy. He served on two destroyers, the Charles R. Ware and the Kenneth D. Bailey. He did tours in the Caribbean, Mediterranean and the North Atlantic during the Viet Nam era. Cary moved to Utah in October 1978. The following summer, he and Valorie Anne Cagle were married in the Provo, Utah temple on July 20, 1979. Within the next few years they welcomed three children, Steven, JoAnna, and David into the family. He chose a career in culinary arts and trained at Salt Lake Community College. He loved baking cookies, and for the last several years has enjoyed sharing boxes of cookies with friends and neighbors for Christmas, community activities, or 'just because.' He compiled a binder of his recipes and was always willing to share his cooking secrets. Basketball, baseball and golf were some of Cary's favorite activities, whether he was playing or watching a game on TV. He seldom missed a Utah Jazz game. He was a storyteller. He worked on writing his memoires during the last few years. He didn't get them finished, but he wanted to his family to remember his stories and learn from his experiences. Cary is survived by his wife, Valorie, children, Steve Wyall, JoAnna Lindorff and David Wyall. Also surviving are his mother, Mary Anna Martin (Marty) Wyall, brothers, Sumner, Peter and John Wyall, and sister Martha Pohl. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene (Gene) Wyall.
