Catherine (Cathe) Ann Neff, age 70, passed away on December 18, 2024. She was born on February 13, 1954, in Topeka, Kansas, to William (Jack) and Lavonne Deines.
Cathe attended college in Rexburg, Idaho, and Provo, Utah, where she obtained her degree in psychology from Brigham Young University. She was a devout Latter-day Saint and wholeheartedly believed in family. Cathe spent her life as a mother, homeschooling her children and as an active member in her community LDS church. She is remembered for selflessly helping any family member in need. Cathe had a calm spirit about her and a beautiful, infectious smile.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy Neff; daughters, Amy James and Madison Chipman; sons-in-law, Joseph James and Brian Chipman; granddaughter, Bailey James; and grandson, Emmett James. Cathe is also survived by four siblings, Jim Deines, Gary Deines, Deborah Wilbur, and Chris Figures, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was loved by all who were blessed to know her and will be greatly missed.
Cathe was preceded in death by her parents, by her daughter, Angela Catherine Neff, and by her brother William Deines.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the East Millcreek LDS meetinghouse at 2702 East Evergreen Ave. in Salt Lake City, Utah. There is a viewing before the funeral service at 10 a.m. for family members.
The interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park following the service.
A memorial service will also be held in San Jose, California, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the LDS meetinghouse at 5700 Comanche Drive.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints humanitarian fund.
