Cathy Gruis

Daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was reunited with her parents and husband on May, 22 2024.

Cathy was born on April 27, 1948 in Albany, California.  She married Gregg Gruis on March 20, 1971 and they were inseparable ever since. They enjoyed their trips to Disneyland.  They would often sneak away to the park without telling anyone until they were there waiting for Buzz Lightyear or Pirates of the Caribbean.  Their love was truly a forever love and will never be broken.

Cathy enjoyed sewing and crocheting.  She made some of the most beautiful and warm baby blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Cathy’s love for her family was deep and only grew with each generation spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

If Cathy was not with her family, she could be found sitting on the swing and talking with her best friend Linda Leavitt enjoying their time together eating strawberry rhubarb pie.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents (Thomas and Norma), her sister Lynda and her husband Gregg. She is survived by her children Jennifer Williams(Elmer), Jeff Gruis (Andrew) and Kevin Gruis (Heidi). She is also survived by her six grandchildren, her four great grandchildren, with two on the way, her sisters Peggy Barulich(Dan) and Karen Shores. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 30th at 12:00 p.m. at 

Memorial Holladay Cemetery
