Cecilia Mendez De Galvez

Cecilia Mendez De Galvez died on November 28, 2022. She was born on November 18, 1957 in Sahuayo Michoacán, Mexico to Jesus Mendez and Amparo Sanchez. She married Gabriel Galvez Horta and immigrated to the United States.
Cecilia loved caring for and having her family near.  She enjoyed baking, cooking, shopping, and going out.  Many memories were made taking road trips with Gabriel. She was strong, brave, and giving. A member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Parrish she was prayerful and selfless, always looking for ways to help people.
Surviving Cecilia is her husband, Gabriel; children: Ana Nieto, Andrea Horta, Jose Horta, and Joel Horta; 8 grandchildren; and many more family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Parrish, 7405 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held the night prior, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, and again on Wednesday at the Mortuary from 9:30 until 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Memorial Redwood Cemetery.

A Cecilia le encantaba cuidar y tener cerca a su familia. Le gustaba hornear, cocinar, ir de compras y salir. Muchos recuerdos se hicieron haciendo viajes por carretera con Gabriel. Era fuerte, valiente y generosa. Miembro de la parroquia católica de St. Joseph the Worker, era devota y desinteresada, siempre buscando formas de ayudar a las personas.
Cecilia sobrevive es su esposo, Gabriel; hijos: Ana Nieto, Andrea Horta, José Horta y Joel Horta; 8 nietos; y muchos más miembros de la familia.
Se llevará a cabo una misa de entierro cristiano a las 11:00 a. m. el miércoles 7 de diciembre de 2022 en la parroquia católica St. Joseph the Worker, 7405 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Se llevará a cabo un velorio la noche anterior, martes 6 de diciembre de 2022 de 5:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. en el cementerio y depósito de cadáveres Memorial Redwood, 6500 South Redwood Road, y nuevamente el miércoles en el depósito de cadáveres de 9:30 a 10:30 a.m. El entierro será en el cementerio Memorial Redwood.
