Charles W. Ellis age 63 died on November 6th in Salt Lake City Utah. He was born December 3rd 1961 to Richard (Dick) Ellis I and Ruth Eloise Ellis. He married Vicki Lin Terry on May 8th 1982 and was with her until June 25th 2018 when she passed. Together they had 3 boys, Marc Ryan, Daniel (Danny) Wayne, and Craig Joseph (Joie).
As a youth he played competitive hockey until he no longer could due to injury. Early in his marriage he started work as a sales associate at a local card shop where he was able to build his Ron Hasey card and memorabilia collection. He was later to buy into and be a co-own to the card shop calling it The Best Darn Card Shop. As his boys grew up he found joy in coaching baseball and spending time with them. He fell in love with coaching and even when his boys were grown he spent countless hours molding and shaping young athletes not only on the field but in life. He touched hundreds of players lives over the course of his tenure as a coach even being recognized by KSL for his contributions to the community. As his boys grew older they discovered a local community theater, The Off-Broadway Theater. After attending shows regularly for a year Charles started volunteering him and his family to help run the snack bar as the theater was short of staff. Eventually Charlie worked his way up to acting, running sound and lights, and overall being incorporated into the theater family.
Charles was always willing to help others at the drop of a hat. He was a compassionate friend and was always looking for ways to help others. Charles loved to talk and swap stories and could make friends everywhere he would go. On a trip to Disneyland with his family he and his boys entertained those around them in lines playing improve games and laughing and talking to those around him.
He is survived by siblings and spouses Rick and Tricia Ellis, Doug and Carmen Ellis, Mark Ellis, and Susan Drossulis, his sons and their families Marc and Beth Ellis with Ryan, David, and Emily. Danny Ellis and Shana Mecham with Maurice and Liliana Mecham. And Joie and Jennie Ellis with Kaden, Jaxson, Logan, Kenzie, and Boston.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother Eloise and Dick, and his wife Vicki Lin. A family graveside service will be held November 15th. A costume baseball game will be held at 1535 E Creek Rd, Sandy, UT at 12:00 pm. His internment will be at Mountainview Memorial mortuaries and estates.
