Charles Edwin Warren

Charles Edwin Warren was born March 8, 1926, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He was the son of Collins Otto Warren and Vivian Anna Marcoe. At age 3 Charles mother died. He and his older sister Shirley, age 5, were taken in and raised by his grandparents Edwin and Helen Marcoe. Charles was raised in Pocatello, Idaho. He graduated from Pocatello High School with WWII raging and honorably served in the Army Air Corps from 1942-1945 and in the Army Reserve Corps until 1955.

As a young man he developed a passion for motorcycles and cars and always had the best of both. He loved horseback riding and spent many days riding his beloved Beau in the Uintah Mountains.

At WWII's end Charles returned attended the University of Idaho, then graduated from Montana State with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He additionally trained in heating and air conditioning and moved to Salt Lake to work for the Crane and Trane Company. He eventually opened his own successful business, Air Engineering Corps, heating and air conditioning for commercial buildings.

Charles married his high school sweetheart, Geraldine Davis in 1947. They had 4 children, Mark (Diane), Doug (Kathy), Karen (Jim) Shields, and Scott. Gerry passed away in 2001.

In 2003 he married Estelle Scoville Wardle and they had 10 wonderful years traveling and visiting his and her families.

Charles is survived by his wife, Estelle, sister Shirley Packard, 4 children and 4 grandchildren, six stepchildren, Bruce (Linda) Wardle, Kristine (Reid) Frederickson, Stacie (Brent) Mangum, Clark (Kathleen) Wardle, Thomas (Laura) Wardle, Lucy (Greg) Streeter, 30 grandchildren, and thirty great-grandchildren.

Thank you to Alta Ridge who cared for Charles during the last 6 months of his life. Charles was a dear neighbor and friend, ready to help when the need arose and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, with a graveside dedication to follow at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
