Chase William Watson

Chase William Watson, age 40, passed away on August 27, 2026, in Bluffdale, Utah. He was born on September 4, 1985, to Geoff and Suzanne Watson.

Chase married Kara Whitelock on August 14, 2009. Together, they built a loving family with their three children, Karbon, Aurelia, and Noella; their two pugs, Gus and Dieter; and a shared life filled with laughter, adventure, and countless memories.

Chase had many passions, including motorcycle riding, building elaborate LEGO creations, camping, hunting, stargazing, gaming, working out, and learning. He also had a particular love for plants, gardening, and growing all kinds of vegetables. His natural curiosity meant there was always something new to learn, build, grow, explore, or share with others.

Above all, Chase treasured spending time with his children. He loved playing with them, sharing his interests and adventures with them, and simply being their dad. He especially enjoyed watching BFDI videos with his son, Karbon. The time he spent with his children and the memories they created together were among the things he valued most.

Chase's curiosity and love of learning were also evident throughout his professional life. He earned his bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Weber State University and later returned to Weber State as a professor. Teaching was something Chase truly loved, and he took great pride in sharing his knowledge and passion for ultrasound with his students and colleagues. He worked for nearly 17 years with Intermountain Health and had recently begun working at University of Utah Health.

Chase is survived by his wife, Kara Watson; his children, Karbon, Aurelia, and Noella; his mother, Suzanne Altland Watson; and his father, Geoff Watson. He is also survived by his siblings: Tiffany Thompson (Ben), Chris Watson (Amy), Aaron Watson, Tyler Watson (Nikki), Alyse Sullivan (Mitch), Cara Watson, Caylan Watson (Jon), and Tanner Watson (Lilli); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.

Chase was preceded in death by his sister, Ashley Marie Watson, and his grandmother, Mary Louise Altland.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.

Chase will be remembered for his curiosity, his humor, his love of learning and adventure, and the enthusiasm he brought to the things he loved. He leaves behind not only countless memories, but also the knowledge and passion he shared with his students and the love he gave to his family. Above all, his greatest joy was his children, and his influence will live on through Karbon, Aurelia, and Noella, and in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.
