Memorial Service
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cheri Dawn Ostler-Hartley, age 43, who left us on January 31, 2026 in North Hollywood, California. Cheri was born on July 20, 1982 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Dale and Kathleen Ostler. She shared her life in love and partnership with her husband, Brandon Hartley, and was the devoted mother of Phoenix Hartley, who brought her endless joy.
From a young age, Cheri’s creativity and artistic spirit were evident. As a child, she delighted in writing and illustrating imaginative “books” about dogs and cats, crafting stories that reflected her vivid imagination and deep love for animals. Her passion for beauty and self-expression continued into adulthood, leading her to become a highly skilled esthetician. After earning her master esthetician degree in the early 2000s, Cheri worked in Hollywood alongside Sonia Dakar and served as a representative for Bliss Company, touching many lives with her talent and dedication.
Cheri’s warmth, kindness, and creativity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She is survived by her beloved son Phoenix Hartley, her parents Dale Ostler and Kathleen Ostler-Slade, her brother Jeff Ostler, her sister Shannon Ostler, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Edward and Virginia Price, her stepfather Neil Slade, and her cousins Chris Ostler and Nathan Ostler.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cheri’s life at a Memorial Service on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 7:00 PM, with a viewing from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah.
Cheri’s radiant spirit, her creative soul, and her boundless love will be remembered always. She may have left this world too soon, but the beauty and light she brought into the lives of others will never fade.
