In Loving Memory of Chester Alan Stephensen
April 29, 1951 – July 28, 2023
Alan passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023, in the hospital after eight weeks of “fighting the fight with cancer.” Alan was born on April 29, 1951, to Chester Worlton and Ardith J. Stephensen as the second oldest of eight children. He married Deborah Pace and they were blessed with two children, Nicole and Chet. They later divorced but remained friends. Alan had a sense of humor and loved to laugh; his presence always brought happiness to those around him. He treasured every moment he spent with his family, and he took countless pictures to prove it. He had a passion for gardening, traveling, and volunteering with the Royal Court of the Golden Spike Empire. He worked at the same convenience store for many years where the customers were his friends; he really took pleasure in his job and always greeted everyone with a smile.
He is survived by his life partner Robert Ray Duncan, his little Teaka Belle; daughter Nicole Ipson Moore, son Chet Ipson (Nicole); siblings Alana Shumway, Lisa Stephensen, Kevin (Becky), Davy, and Brian; his six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, numerous relatives, and friends; and the Duncan Family: Floyd (Berlynn), Chet (Paula), Penny Cooke, and Frank Duncan (Larry Holden). Alan is preceded in death by both of his parents, his brothers Donnie and Brent Paul, and his brother-in-law Verlyn Shumway.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center — ICU, Telemetry, Second East, and Hospice — for the care and comfort they provided Alan.
