Christine Ann Nelson Sirstins, 43, passed away on July 12, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a brave fight with cancer.
Christine was born on March 11, 1970 in Provo, Utah to Wayne and Sue Nelson. She grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho. Her family consisted of her younger brother Brad and then her two younger sisters Cassandra and Teri. She grew up with a lot of extended family who loved spending time together. Especially at Grandma and Grandpa Kesler's house. Jill (cousin same age) & Chris spent hours jumping on the tramp, picking raspberries, eating pancakes and making sure they sat in the right seat for one of grandpa's back scratches. Many happy occasions and traditions were a big part of all of the family. It was a big deal to get to spend the night at grandma's house. Jill and Chris did that together a number of times. Grandma taught us a lot and always made all of us feel so special. I (Jill) know she is with grandma now and that gives me great comfort. The cousins all worked together at grandpa's grocery store... Kesler's Market. She loved dancing with the Stars Dance Team which was directed by our aunt MarvaLu.
She attended Blackfoot High School and had many good friends. She enjoyed cheerleading for two years. She graduated with a 4.0. She then went on to graduate from BYU. Within her time at BYU she served an LDS mission in the Netherlands speaking Dutch. She gained a great love for tulips and antique's from being in Holland. When she returned she visited her aunt Ann in India for 2 months. She also went to BYU Hawaii for one semester. She worked at Delta Airlines which allowed her to travel some including going back to Hawaii and the Netherlands.
She was married and sealed to John Joseph Sirstins in the Salt Lake City Temple on Dec. 14, 1995. Their lives were meant for each other... just ask everyone that knew them. They spent all their time together and being together was what fulfilled their lives. To their kids dis-pleasure they were always kissing and holding each other's hands. She was an active member of the LDS church and served faithfully in many callings including a scout leader, activity day leader, in primary presidency, relief society presidency, youth Sunday school teacher and many others. Her favorite calling on earth was being a full time mother of three wonderful children. Hannah 15, Isaac 13 and Josh almost 11... whom she was so proud of and will miss immensely. She loved shopping and hanging with her daughter. They were best friends. She loved Isaac's sharp mind and funny comments and loved her baby Josh with his big, big loving heart.
Everyone who knew Chris knows she was a very organized person and was very detailed. She loved flowers and gardening and making her home beautiful. She loved pictures and scrapbooking. She loved her parents and family very much and her childhood dream was to graduate from BYU, go on a mission, travel, marry in the temple and have a happy family... she accomplished everything she wanted. She loved her husband and children very much and in her own words before she passed... "more than we will ever know".
