Christopher Brent Cheney

June 1, 1979 — November 21, 2010

Christopher Brent Cheney, beloved son of Brent and Lucille, special brother to Stephanie, Colleen, Laura and Mark, and uncle to 7 nieces and nephews passed away November 21, 2010.

He graduated from Skyline High where he enjoyed playing in the various bands. He was very musical, playing 9 instruments--many self-taught. He formed his own and played in other bands. He was very creative and composed many original pieces and also wrote lyrics.

His favorite activities as a youth centered around scouting. He was an Eagle Scout. He worked at Camps Tracy and East Fork of the Bear. He loved working with his dad learning carpentry skills which he used throughout his life.

While young, he developed a great love for planes and flying. He had many model airplanes and rockets. One of his most exciting adventures was participating in the Young Eagles program. He went on to attain his private pilot's license, a highlight of his life.

He completed a short mission to the California, Sacramento Mission, which he loved, while waiting to go to the Taiwan Mission. He married Tishanna Paulson. They later separated, but she always held a special place in his heart.

He worked installing fixtures in stores developing the skill to read the complex plans needed for the jobs. Another of his favorite hobbies centered around treasure hunting; lost gold mines and the lore written about them.

He was a loving and caring friend helping whoever, wherever and in whatever way he could and greatly appreciated whatever was done for him. He had a charming personality and quick wit. He loved his little home. It was his sanctuary, but he would open it to any who needed shelter. His faithful dog Amos brought him much comfort there.

We are thankful he is now freed from the cares, troubles and worries of this earthly life and it is peaceful to think of him welcomed into the next life by those who have gone before, especially his two very loving grandmothers, Grandma Cheney and Grandma Burbidge, with whom he baked bread, hauled hay, and had many other exciting adventures.

"Chris, we love you with all our hearts forever and ever."

A Memorial Service was held Saturday, November 17, 2010. He was buried at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Messages and tributes to the family can be posted at: www.holbrookmortuary.com
