Our beloved brother, uncle, and friend, Christopher Adam Noyce (Chris), lost his battle with Stage 4 Metastatic Prostate cancer and can now rest peacefully with his eternal family. Chris died at his home on July 1, 2026 in North Salt Lake City, Utah at age 66. Born on May 6, 1960 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Marvin LeRoy Noyce and Joyce Vivian Randall Noyce (Dolly), he was the youngest of six children. Raised in the Rose Park neighborhood in Salt Lake City, Utah, Chris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He remained a bachelor throughout his life. Preceded in death by his parents and his three sisters, Marva Kingsbury (Van, still living), Penny Dee, and Peggy Lee (conjoined twins who died shortly after their birth). Survived by his brother Robert Noyce (Beverly) and son Sean Noyce (Katya Usvitsky); brother Mark Noyce (Susan) and their two daughters Shayna Noyce and Amanda Barrett (Robin); and their son Adam Noyce (Kacy), along with numerous other nieces and nephews: Rachelle Brewster (Matt) and their children Chase Holt and Parker Holt; David Sellers (Robin) and their children Ryan Sellers (Xenia), Alexandra (Lexi) Wunderlich (Markus) and four children, and Jake Sellers; Vanessa Kingsbury; and Jennifer Kingsbury.
Chris was raised in a close-knit family--hanging out with his brothers and sister while developing a lifelong love of sports, sports competition, and sports statistics. Chris graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1978. Throughout his life and during his high school years he was heavily involved in sports, specifically baseball, basketball, and golf. During high school he worked at Thrifty drug. After high school he joined United States Postal Service (USPS) where he worked for over 43 years as a Postal Clerk, building a career marked by hard work, reliability, and commitment. He took great pride in his work and the friendships he made throughout his tenure there. He was awarded many Certificates of Achievement for his hard work and dedication to moving the mail along as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Though he loved most sports, golf was his greatest passion. He spent many years golfing with his best friend, Greg Lloyd, taking trips together to golf in beautiful places like Oahu, Hawaii; California; North Carolina; and Utah. His golf trip to Hawaii with Greg was one that he recalled with great affection even later in life. He was always enthusiastic whenever anyone mentioned golf or basketball. He enjoyed many other sports--from the Utah Mammoth to the Minnesota Vikings but watching the Utah Jazz games and other collegiate and professional basketball teams on TV thrilled him the most. He kept close track of team statistics via numerous pages he’d written in stunning detail. His favorite team was the University of Utah Utes. He could recount games, scores, statistics, and team members from the golden years of the past. Chris would almost always wear his favorite sports team’s t-shirts, jackets emblazoned with team decals, and blue denim shorts. He was a casual kind of guy; rarely did you see him wearing a suit. In addition to golf and basketball, he was a collector.
Chris was an amazing brother, uncle, friend, and a very generous person. He was always willing to help the needy by donating what he could to make others happy. He gave generously to his favorite charities during the last few years of his adult life. At Christmastime, he gave money to most of his relatives.
Chris had a funny sense of humor; he was usually very cheerful and friendly to others no matter who they were. He will be truly missed by all who know him. Rest in peace, Chris. We know you are flying with the angels and reuniting with your parents and sisters.
The family would like to thank oncologist Dr. Scott Samuelson of the Salt Lake Clinic, Dr. Dustin Booth of Utah Cancer Specialists, and the Active Hospice team: Zac, Mike, Ronda, Tiffany, Kaiya, Dr. Rachel Stubbs, and the Hospice Massage Therapist for their dedication in assisting Chris during his final days at home. We’d also like to thank his Bishop Blake Folsom, church members, neighbors, and friends who stopped by to check on him and offer blessings. A special thanks goes out to his best friend, Greg Lloyd, for his loyalty and dedication to Chris.
Chris is being laid to rest at Memorial Lakeview Mortuary in Bountiful, Utah, close to his parents. A short informal gravesite service will be performed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity. Chris would love that.
