Christopher Robert Weinle

Oct 26, 1978 — Sep 30, 2026

West Valley City

In loving memory of Christopher Robert Weinle.

Christopher passed away on September 30, 2026. Christopher was born in October 1978 in Santa Clara, California to Robert Fredrick Weinle Jr. and Carol Lynn Choate.

Chris had many interests growing up, one of his uncles introduced him to Star Trek and he boldy went where no one had gone before, along with a love for Transformer shows and action figures. But most of all, Chris loved to listen to Pink Floyd while driving around his hometown of Milpitas. Chris’s love for music blossomed in high school as he played in the marching band, they were able to march in the Rosebowl parade, a fond memory he loved to share. While in High School Chris’s friends invited him to church one Sunday. Shortly after that visit, he became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Growing up Chris’s family spent some time in Utah and after graduating from High School Chris decided to move to St. George Utah for a change in scenery. The adventure did not last long before he moved back to California, but since then he felt a pull towards Utah. After some time, Chris took a chance and moved back to Utah in 2006 to start a new life. Shortly after moving he found a “goth girl” online so he figured he’d take a chance on. They exchanged phone numbers and texted and called each other daily. They finally went on their first date in March of 2007 to a Young Single Adult Activity Pinewood Derby. He borrowed his dates car and won! Since then, Chris and Mary had been inseparable. After years of dating, they finally married on September 8, 2012, in the Salt Lake Temple. A few years later they welcomed their son Caleb into the world.

Chris worked very hard to support his family and when he ended up having to find a new job in 2019, he didn’t let fear get in his way. He ended up working for Stadler Rail and he found a job that he felt he belonged to and that he loved. He was giving many opportunities to grow at Stadler, he was even sent to Switzerland for a month. A place he hoped to take Mary and Caleb to one day.

In late 2024 Chris received the news that he was suffering from Stage 4 kidney disease and would need a transplant. The road to transplant was not an easy road. There were many tests and checkups that needed to be performed. In Spring of 2025 Chris was told he needed to go on dialysis. Chris underwent the needed surgeries and hoped to get the call about a kidney for him. Unfortunately, Chris’s body was starting to fail. He underwent 12 surgeries in 11 months and in the end, his body wasn’t strong enough.

Chris loved meeting people and loved being outside and taking Caleb on daddy and Caleb days to the zoo or the aquarium and listening to Pink Floyd on their drives. But Chris loved his Savior Jesus Christ. He took every chance he could to bear testimony of Jesus Christ and being his redeemer. Chris will be missed by many, he touched countless lives through work, and his callings in the LDS church.

Shine on you crazy Diamond!

Chris is survived by his wife Mary, son Caleb, Brother Jeremy along with children Elizabeth and Kenneth Christiansen.

Chris is proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents and other aunts and uncles.
