Clara M. Lopez, age 92 passed away on July 28, 2026, in Layton, Utah. She was born on April 10, 1934 in Colorado to Isidore and Carmen Montoya. She was married to Alex Nuno late divorced, and Bill Laird who preceded her in death.
Clara had a long and fulfilling life. She had a contact lens company called C.M.L contacts, where she met many of her friends. She loved to travel and did so with said friends and family.
Clara also enjoyed oil painting and was quite talented. She was a free spirit and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was known to some as "Auntie Mame" and we all enjoyed spending time with her. She will be missed.
Clara was a member of the Catholic Church and attended Saint Joseph the Worker in South Jordan.
Survived by her children, David Nuno, Debra Nuno, and Rick (Wendy) Lopez. Maryann Cartright who was recently in later years, reunited with "Mom Clara". Granddaughter Courtney Nuno, Siblings Elva (Fred) Murphy, Alex Montoya, Elsie (Dave) Rapp and a very special sister-in-law, Sandra Montoya. Many nieces and nephews. Special mention to Kim Nuno.
Preceded in death by parents Isidore and Carmen Montoya. Brother Willey Montoya. Sister and brother-in-law Eleanor (Don) Shurtz. Husband Bill Laird.
Clara's wishes were to be cremated and have graveside services. Date will be announced at a later time.
Rest in Peace Clara.
Interment will be at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
