Clyde A Rasmussen

Clyde Allen Rasmussen DDS, born June 16, 1925 to Clyde and Vera Rasmussen, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2008. He was a graduate from East High School, The University of Utah, and the University of Southern California where he earned a degree in dentistry. He married Dolly Bell on May 28th, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Clyde practiced dentistry for over 49 years, first serving as a dentist in the US Navy where he also worked with the Marines and US Air Force. The last 6 years of his practice, he did much work with the Community Service Council making dentures for senior citizens who couldn't afford them. For his service to the community, he was awarded the "Seniors Helping Seniors" award from then governor Mike Leavitt.

Clyde was a gifted pianist who had the ability to play by note or by ear. For many years, his music has been a source of entertainment and joy to those who heard him play. He was always in demand at parties and church programs, and he has played at over 100 funerals. Clyde also enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and meeting with his church fireside group and friends. His special joys were his wife, his children, and grand children. He loves them all dearly.

Clyde is survived by his wife, his three children Jan, Jill and Paul, 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. The family thanks those caring health providers in the community who assisted Clyde over the last 6 months.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 19, 2008 at 12 Noon at the East Millcreek 7th Ward, 3408 South Celeste Way (3120 East). Friends may visit with the family from 10:45 to 11:45am prior to services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.holbrookmortuary.com.
