Cora Simons Ricks, our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend, and daughter of our Heavenly Father, passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 14, 2012 in Salt Lake City. Cora was born on January 12, 1927 in Sutherland, Utah to loving parents Marr Dixon Simons and Helen Anna Hunt Simons. She was a member of the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints. She married Lloyd S. Ricks in April 1948 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Cora was an inspiration and a pillar of strength to those around her. Her influence was felt by all who entered her home which was a haven of peace and security. Her home was a warm gathering place for her family and friends.

She was a talented artist and pianist and loved to fill her home with music and lovely works of art. She enjoyed composing and playing her own pieces. She was often found reading her scriptures and had a love for learning. Cora had an unwavering testimony and shared her love of the gospel and was an example of Christ-like service. She was a trusted friend to all who knew her. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She served faithfully as a primary teacher and young women's advisor and with Lloyd served in the Jordan River Temple and as greeters in their ward.
