Corey James Mickelsen

Corey returned home to his Heavenly Father on May 9, 2026. He was born on May 23, 1996, to Kenneth Mickelsen and Candace Russell. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and really enjoyed having conversations with Bishop Cohen.

Corey loved to game and had a zest for anything electronic. He also had a passion for history, but particularly world war histories. He could tell you anything about the World Wars. When Corey was younger, he was fascinated with stars so much that his dad thought he was going to grow up to be an astronomer.

Corey especially loved his car and taking road trips. He was always looking for a new adventure when he drove. He drove for delivery companies throughout the years. He received his certification to be a flagger and planned to obtain a CDL license and drive the open road.

Corey loved to play jokes and laugh. You know he got you, when you saw him smirk and heard him giggle.

Corey was an organ donor. In his final act of service, he donated to many recipients and not only blessed the lives of the recipients, but the lives of those around them.

Corey was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. He had a special bond with his grandma Mickelsen; We know they had a grand reunion on the other side.

Corey is survived by his father, Ken. Sisters, Chelsea (Cody) Mickelsen and Kaylee (Haven) Le Mon. Brothers, Blaine Roberts, and Darin Fryer and one niece, Lexi.

Corey would have turned 30 on May 23, 2026. Please join us for a Celebration of Life in his honor on Saturday, May 23rd from 12 pm – 2 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 3151 S 900 E, Salt Lake City, Utah.
