Craig Challburg

d. June 15, 2023

With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of our son, brother, uncle and great uncle, Craig Alan Challburg, age 63, on June 16, 2023, at Holy Cross Hospital, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Those who knew Craig will greatly miss his friendship, sense of humor and ability to break into laughter in reaction to a story, tale or joke told from a friend, brother, family member and really anyone he met. He loved people and was an instant friend to everyone. He always had a smile on his face and wanted those around him to laugh and be happy.
Craig was born in San Francisco, on March 24, 1960, and grew up in Sacramento, California. He made friends easily and kept them for his whole life.  Craig was a lifelong fan of music and attended concerts of most of the greatest rock bands over the years. He loved baseball and watching his favorite team, the San Francisco Giants.
After early years as a bicycle documents runner in the Financial District of San Francisco, he worked 10 years as a Lab Technician in Sacramento and for another 15 years at the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle. He later lived and worked in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Craig learned the skill of master woodworking while in Seattle and made beautiful solid wood, craftsman quality pieces of furniture. Several of those pieces will be kept and treasured by his loved ones.
Craig will be greatly missed by his surviving family members, including his parents Norman and Joanne Challburg, his brothers Gary (Kellie), David, and Scott (Carri), nieces/nephews Alex (Colten), Jessica (Kirby), Kamerin (Cody), Garrett, Ashley (Zion), Emily, Cooper, Karli, Tyson, and great nephews Kane, Clancy and Koa.
The family will hold a service in his honor on July 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the LDS chapel located at 1280 E. Turquoise Way Sandy, Utah
