Cristina “Cristy” Salgado Reyna

Cristina “Cristy” Salgado Reyna
Cristina “Cristy” Salgado Reyna passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2026, surrounded by her daughters and family.
Born in Guerrero, Mexico, Cristy spent much of her life in the United States, where she built a life centered around the people she loved. She was a strong, hardworking, loving, generous, and fun woman who was deeply loved by so many. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a way of making people laugh and feel comfortable in her presence. She loved to dance, cook, travel, and, most of all, spend time with her family.
Cristy was an incredible mother. As a single mother, she raised her two daughters with strength, love, and determination. She worked hard to give them everything they needed and always made sure they were cared for. She was the kind of person who cared for everyone, even those who were not her own. She welcomed people into her life and made them feel like family.
For many years, Cristy faced serious health challenges that gradually changed many parts of her life. She had difficulty doing things that once came naturally to her and had to give up many of the activities she loved. But even as illness took so much from her physically, it never took away who she was. She remained funny, loving, generous, and deeply devoted to her family. The woman who loved to dance, cook, laugh, and make memories was always still there. Her strength throughout those years is something her daughters and granddaughter will carry with them forever.
One of Cristy’s greatest joys was being a grandmother to her only granddaughter. She adored her and was deeply invested in her life. She would FaceTime her every day just to see her, talk to her, and be a part of her day. Her granddaughter brought her so much happiness, and the bond they shared was incredibly special.
Cristy had a beautiful way of showing her love through the things she did best. She loved cooking for her family and would make the foods her daughters enjoyed simply because seeing them happy made her happy. She gave advice, cared deeply, made people laugh, and created countless memories that her family will hold onto forever.
Cristy leaves behind her children and beloved granddaughter, as well as her siblings, nieces, nephews, friends, and so many others whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Her family will remember her not for what illness took away, but for everything she gave: her love, her strength, her laughter, her generosity, her hard work, her cooking, her dancing, and the countless memories she created with the people she loved.
Mama, thank you for loving us, taking care of us, and giving us a lifetime of memories to hold onto. Thank you for every meal you made, every laugh you gave us, every piece of advice, and every moment you made us feel loved and cared for. I hope you knew just how deeply you were loved, not only by your daughters, but by everyone whose life you touched. We will miss your laugh, your cooking, your stories, your dancing, and simply having you here. But we will carry you with us in everything we do and in every memory we made together. Your love will always be a part of us.
We love you, Mama. We will love you forever.
