Cynthia Brown DeCoursey passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 69, from complications associated with myelofibrosis, a rare form of blood cancer. Born on August 16, 1957, in St. Johns, Arizona, she was the daughter of Anna Vee Smithson and Jack Albert Brown.
She earned a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and met her husband Dave while living in Provo. Cynthia and Dave were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple on September 15, 1983.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, Dave; her children and their spouses, Chad and Jennie, Todd and Emilie, Krista and Trevor, Erik and Fe, Kara and Kip, Kayla and Kaden; and her 23 beloved grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, David and Roxanne, Norman and Karen, Doug and Cindy, Carol and Orlando, Michael and Tiffany, and Janna and Chris. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter-in-law Brennan.
Cynthia loved her family and friends deeply. She spent quality time with her grandkids, often getting right down on the floor playing with them. She was always looking for simple ways to care for those around her, which often meant sharing delicious homemade food. She took pride in keeping things tidy and organized. Her quick wit and sharp sense of humor kept everyone laughing. She will always be remembered for the joy she brought to the lives of those around her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, at a meetinghouse of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 10:30 a.m. at 1304 Cinch Way, Bluffdale, UT 84065. Family and friends are invited to stay after the services for light refreshments and visiting.
