Dale A. Mortensen

Dale A. Mortensen, a beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 18, 2024, at his home in Kearns, Utah. He was born on April 20, 1933, in Murray, Utah to Joseph W. and Clara Popp Mortensen. Dale was a dedicated individual who served in the Army for 2 years. He worked at Kennecott for 30 years ending his career there as a train engineer. He loved going to Wendover. It was almost his second home. Everyone who knew him, loved him. He also enjoyed hunting.

On June 15, 1957, Dale married the love of his life, Rita Mae Brown. Together they shared many cherished memories until her passing on March 1, 1998. 

Dale is survived by his daughter Leslie (Dave) Buccambuso; sons David, Joe, and Michael (Barbara); seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; siblings Peggy, Mark, Ileen (Alan).  

In Dale's journey beyond this life, he is reunited with his beloved wife Rita Mae.  He is also preceded in death by his parents; four sisters LaWana Moss, Phyllis Bennett, Bonnie & Patsy; five brothers Ray, Bob, Jim, Lee, and Dick. 

The loss of Dale leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family and friends.

Services to honor and remember Dale A. Mortensen will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery in West Jordan. A viewing will take place on March 26th starting at 11:30 AM followed by a Graveside Service at 1:30 PM. The address for the service is 6500 S Redwood Rd., West Jordan, UT 84123.
