Dan Clifford Evans, age 76, passed away on June 22, 2026, holding his wife's hand. Dan was born on July 29, 1949, in Park City, Utah, to Clifford and Donna Evans. He married Carma Barnhurst Evans on September 8, 1990.
Dan grew up in Park City, Utah, and graduated from Park City High School. He often spoke about the wonderful memories he made there and how much he loved his hometown.
In February 1969, he joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He was immensely proud to be a Marine and lived by the motto, "Once a Marine, always a Marine."
A certified welder and member of Iron Workers Union Local 27, he helped build many prominent buildings along the Wasatch Front and worked on powerhouses throughout Utah and neighboring states. He strongly supported the union and served as both a board member and Vice President of Local 27.
He loved the outdoors, especially the mountains, where some of his happiest times were spent camping, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors with his family—the greatest joy of his life. A devoted supporter of the University of Utah, he was a longtime Crimson Club member and annual season ticket holder for Utah Football and Baseball. He enjoyed family vacations to Disneyland, football trips, and traveling with his family to national parks and landmarks, including Yellowstone National Park and Mount Rushmore. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took pride in supporting their interests, activities, and accomplishments.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Donna Evans; his sister, Lonnie Jordan; and his granddaughter, Kelsee Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Carma Evans; his beloved children, Scot (Jessie) Evans, Jason (Deborah) Evans, and Ashley Evans; and his brother, Lloyd Evans.
Grandchildren: Hollie Evans (AJ Hernandez), Taylor Evans (Kylee Alcorn), Courtney DeVito (Nick), Torey Cook (Jen Syme), Anna Evans, Desirae Broadhead (Preston), Zach Williams, Brandon Williams, Kylee Williams, and Talyn Evans.
Great-grandchildren: Carson Smith, Gradie Braithwaite, Trevon Braithwaite, River Broadhead, Meadow Broadhead, Kashton Alcorn, Brixton Evans, and Indy Hernandez.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah.
Interment will follow at Park City Cemetery, 1300 Kearns Boulevard, Park City, Utah.
