Dana Noble Kendrick, cherished husband, father, grandfather, son and brother passed away of a heart attack June 22, 2012. Dana was born August 18, 1958 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Lionel and Myrtis Kendrick, and was raised in Greenville, North Carolina.
Dana attended J. H. Rose High School where he was a top ranked tennis player and accomplished athlete. Dana served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Italy Milan Mission. He graduated with a degree in business from East Carolina University. He was a respected businessman and President of Wincrest and Willowbend Property Companies.
Dana had an enduring testimony of Jesus Christ and His atonement. One of his most important goals was to serve a mission in Italy with his sweetheart Shelley.
Dana married Eva Jorgensen on November 16, 1979 in the Washington D. C. Temple, later divorced. He was blessed with two beautiful daughters from this marriage. He married Shelley Wright in the Salt Lake Temple on December 26, 2007.
Dana found his greatest joy in his family and cherished his sweet grandchildren. He was a wise and generous father and adored Grandfather. He was a friend to many and had a gift of making everyone feel uplifted and happy through his many kind acts. Dana loved people and people loved him.
He is survived by his eternal companion Shelley and two daughters, Marti (Brandon) Johnsen and Ashley (Adam) Holthouse; and six beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his parents; brothers, Larry (Sherron), Hal (Julie); sister, Merri Ellen (Charlie) Turner; and many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him.
