Dane Kristofer Howick

November 20, 1976 — August 11, 2023

Dane Kristofer Howick, age 46, passed away on August 11, 2023. He was born November 20, 1976, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Janeen Howick Brown and Kristofer Sorensen.
Dane lived with his good friends, Craig and his wife, Christina, and their son Aidan Campbell, who shared a love of magic with Dane. He had many special birds over the years and a snake he won for a dollar. He prided himself in teaching several of his parrots to talk.
This gentle giant will be remembered for many things. He loved his magic, especially with Craig, going to the Harlem Globetrotters with his grandpa Bud, and seeing David Copperfield shows. Dane loved his trips with his grandparents and cousin Ray to see the elk herds and spending time in Jackson with them and his cousin Brock.  His favorite movies were Jurassic Park, Signs, Tremors and DC/ Marvel.
His fondest memories were spending time with his family. He loved his mother very much and was a great source of support and help to her. His brothers were the most important thing in his life. Dane played a father’s role to Aaron and Jordan, taking good care of them. They enjoyed rides in the car, movies and laughing. Dane was patient and kind.  He was a peacemaker. He loved to make everyone around him laugh and had a soft, almost nervous chuckle. He loved to cook and taught Jordan how to make tacos. Dane loved Thanksgiving and Christmas parties at Scott and Laurie’s home. He would gravitate into the kitchen, standing there taking in the smells and chaos of the room with a big smile on his face. He was Brock’s favorite cousin as a child, and they were inseparable at the cabin. He LOVED the cabin and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends. He developed a close and special bond with his Grandpa Bud and was his caregiver for many years.
He is survived by his brother, Jordan Brown, West Point, Utah; Uncle Scott Howick (Laurie), Salt Lake, Utah; Aunt Shelley Palmer (Ken) Craig, AK; Uncle Les Schofield, Sandy, Utah. He also had many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janeen Howick Brown; brother, Aaron Dozier; Grandparents Bud and Evelyn Howick; Aunt Joan Schofield; and Cousin Robert Kaas.
We would like to express our gratitude to IMC for their loving care and to the Campbell family for making him a part of their family.
There will be a celebration of life and an announcement to follow.
