It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Daniel (Dan) James Brundage, age 82, who passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Holiday Healthcare Center. Born November 7, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the son of the late Walter Brundage and Jewell Ninnie Smith Brundage.
Dan is survived by his sons James (Jim) Brundage, and Dale Brundage; grandchildren, DJ Brundage, Chance Brundage, Sierra Brundage, Tyler Brundage and Zachary Brundage; and many loving great grandchildren and extended family. Dan was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all.
Dan is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carole Jean Conover. He met his beautiful bride in Salt Lake City, Utah, and to the surprise of many, ran off to Reno Nevada to marry. They had many loving, fun and exciting years together.
Dan graduated from West High School and was on the swim team. He loved swimming, dancing, fishing, and traveling. Dan and Carole were always taking their sons traveling in their motor home and were able to travel all 50 United States. They also took many adventurous fishing trips, including Alaska. Dan loved to tinker with automobiles and had plenty of tools to show his love for mechanics. Dan also loved his sweet little dog, Daisy.
Dan served in the Army and was stationed in Germany.
Dan began a long career at Stone Container and retired after 32 years of service. He also served as a Boy Scout leader for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also volunteered his time at the Highlands Senior Center for quite a number of years.
A graveside service will be held on at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South), Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121. A viewing will be held at the Memorial Mountain View Mortuary on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
