Daniel Raymond Mollenhauer

Daniel Raymond Mollenhauer, beloved son, brother, cousin, uncle, and disciple of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully at his sister’s home in Gilbert, Arizona, where he had family to take care of his needs at the end of his life. He had been battling Stage four colon and then stomach cancer for approximately three years. He was 71 years of age. Dan was born in Portland, Oregon, to Ruth Patterson Mollenhauer and Clarence Raymond Mollenhauer. He was the first of seven Children. His father was a Chiropractor, and his mother was a resolute homemaker.

Raised in Sugarhouse, Utah, Dan graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City in 1972, where he enjoyed running track.

In Daniel’s younger years, he worked as a concierge at Hotel Utah for the LDS church.

He drove for City Cab for years. In his later years, he served as a custodian for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He moved to Utah as a young child and lived there for much of his life.

In Danny’s early years, he enjoyed skiing and four-wheel driving, swimming at Fairmont Park, Roller-skating at Classic on State Street and Spending time with his cousins. He took his two brothers and Dad on one of his four wheeling trips, which ended up being a great memory for everyone.

Daniel was the eldest of seven siblings. He was predeceased by his brother Michael (d. 1979), his mother Ruth (d. 1982), and his father Ray (d. 2018). Daniel is survived by his five siblings: Vera Dunlap, Dale Mollenhauer, Valeea Wise, David Mollenhauer, and Diane Patterson.

After Dan was diagnosed with stage four colon and stomach cancer, he went on several cruises with his cousins and siblings. Dan even swam with the dolphins in October 2024.

A private family service will be held in August 2025. Dan will remain in the Ossuary at the Memorial Mountain View Mortuary in Cottonwood Heights, Utah on Bengal Blvd.
