Bountiful, Utah

Danny George Agrapides, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2024, in his home in Bountiful, Utah. He was born on June 30, 1942, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to George and Costula Agrapides.

Danny lived his early years in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  He began a career at JC Penney. A job at Hill Air Force Base Exchange brought him to Salt Lake City.  He spent most of his career as a manager at Kmart. He was a beloved figure among his colleagues and played a crucial role in the opening of new stores.

On June 11, 1972, Danny exchanged vows with the love of his life, Mary (Royal) Agrapides. Their union was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and shared joys. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.

Danny’s hobbies included tending to his yard, cultivating plants, and being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His nurturing spirit and genuine love for family created a warm and inviting home.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Agrapides and their children: Tina (Plato) Pavlatos of Springfield, OH, Peter (Alexandra) Agrapides of Draper, UT. He is also remembered fondly by his grandchildren, Sophia, George, Dimitrios and Isabella Agrapides.  Each grandchild has fond memories of their time with their Papou, going to parks, restaurants, and their many activities.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, George and Costula Agrapides. Though he may be physically gone, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Dan will be laid to rest during a private family service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Salt Lake Rescue Mission. Danny's legacy of love, dedication and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share in his life's journey.

May his memory be eternal.
