Darlene Blundell Hurst born in Salt Lake Utah on December 11, 1935 to Lillian Crofts and Albert Edward Blundell. Darlene attended school in Salt Lake City, Utah, and graduated from West High School, with the class of 1954. She met the love of her life Ernest Oliver Hurst in California and they married October 23, 1954. They moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah; living in Salt Lake until moving into a brand new home in Murray, Utah. Darlene loved family and started her family with son Larry, then daughter Rhonda and her last son was Mark. She was a great mother, whom was involved in her children’s live’s. She loved to celebrate the holidays. Every family barbeque, birthday and get together was special, but most important was her delicious potato and macaroni salads. Her love for her children was increased as she was a proud grandmother of two boys, Steven and Sean Hurst. She and her daughter Rhonda cared for those boys with all their hearts. She had several regular health concerns, then came Covid-19 and several illnesses. She wasn’t able to feel 100% . To better handle her health needs she started home health care then hospice, as her health declined; her loving husband Ernie, her Son Larry, daughter Rhonda and youngest Mark helped at the family home in Murray. Assisted with the help of Intermountain Home Health and Hospice. She finally was freed from her pain and suffering on August 31, 2022. She always liked the summer, so it was fitting that her precious time on earth came to an end on that warm sunny day. Her family was everything to Darlene and she sacrificed for each child and husband, seeing to their care before her own. It is with this heavy heart that we let her rejoin her family, and the three sisters can be together again.
She is survived by her Husband Ernest Oliver Hurst, Son Lawrence Hurst, Daughter Rhonda (Brian) Mann, Son Mark Hurst and two grand children Steven and Sean Hurst.
Preceded in death by her parents Lillian and Edward Albert Blundell, Ted Blundell, Gene Blundell, Beverly Loveridge and Jeannette Devereaux.
