Murray, UT – Darrell B. Knott, 70, passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and hard work.
Darrell was born on January 16, 1955 to Alfred Vernon Knott and Katherine Karras Knott. He grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School in 1973. In 1977, he married Kathryn Dodge, and they began a life together centered on family, love, and the joy of raising their two children, Jennifer and Jason.
Darrell dedicated his entire career in carpentry to the Salt Lake City School District, where he was respected for his skill, commitment, and the friendships he built along the way.
Darrell was happiest when he was keeping busy. Whether camping under the stars, turning wrenches on his Mustang, or diving into a new project, he poured his energy into the things he loved. His tireless hands and generous heart created memories that will last forever.
Above all, Darrell’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father and brother, and a loving grandfather to his grandson, Oliver, who brought him so much joy.
Darrell’s life was one of love, hard work, and dedication. He leaves behind countless memories of camping trips, family vacations, motorcycle rides, garage projects, and laughter with those he cherished. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Jennifer and Jason (Libby); his grandson, Oliver; and his brothers, Mike, Rick, Danny, Kenny, and Gene. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Katherine.
A celebration of life for Darrell will be held for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family hopes you will honor Darrell’s life by connecting with someone you love and letting them know what they mean to you — tomorrow is never promised.
