David Eldon Burgess, age 76, passed away peacefully at his Sandy, UT home surrounded by family on September 9, 2025. He was born on June 29, 1949, in Ogden, Utah to Eldon Willard Burgess and Elsie Mae Ward Burgess. He married Karen Morgan on September 11, 1970.
David worked several jobs and in many capacities. He was a welder, worked in electrical and mechanical engineering, and was an elevator mechanic for the LDS church for 28 years.
He enjoyed many hobbies, the Ham Radio being a big joy for him. He also loved playing guitar, doing genealogy, riding motorcycles, building and flying RC airplanes, and dreamed of flying real airplanes.
Even though he battled many health issues and diseases near the end of his life, his unwavering faith in God and His plan for him kept David fighting throughout these challenges.
He worked hard for his family and loved them fiercely. David loved his dear wife immensely and always made sure she knew. Karen worked tirelessly to care for him throughout his difficult health challenges. Their house is full of written expressions of love in nearly every room. He did not want her to ever forget how much he loved her.
David is survived by his wife, Karen, his children Kristilin (Jeff), Jeran (Jenny), Kelly (Samone), Shaun (Kelly), Conlee (Kristin), Daniel (Jessica), 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
