David Dee Morrison, born September 8,1961 to Flo Marie Easterbrook and Kay Donald Morrison, passed away June 25,2025 at Lakeview Hospital. He had just been admitted a day earlier for a sudden heart attack.
Dave graduated from West High in 1979, where he excelled in basketball and football. Dave went on to attend Utah State University for one year, where he partied harder than he studied. He had a hell of a fun time!
Dave was a fighter. After completing his first year of college in Aug 1980, David suffered a fatal accident attending a John Denver concert. He passed away the first time, from a fall at the old Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. There happened to be a nurse, Gwen, standing about three feet away from him as he lay motionless on the floor. She, with the assistance of God, was able to revive him back to life.
After much recovery, and during his four-year marriage, David had the most important person come into his life in 1989. “Tiger - My Kid’’, Kayla Dee, his one and only daughter. She was everything to him, just as David was everything to Kayla. It was just the two of them as David raised Kayla alone for most of her childhood. What a phenomenal DAD he was! Throughout Dave’s life, he made sure to have everything in place for Kayla, including his end-of-life finances and preparations in place before leaving us Wednesday. He even made sure to say “goodbye” in his final moments of life.
Dave loved to serve others. Even though he did not have much, he always thought of others. While Sub for Santa was being delivered to him and Kayla, he’d spend countless hours collecting donations, shopping, and delivering to others every year at Christmas time. Never just a single family, but multiple with each passing year.
A lover of car racing, David was always around the racetrack. Spectating, or doing what he totally enjoyed, working in the “pits” with the Nish Family. He also enjoyed a few years watching his nephew, Kellen and his family race around the track out at Rocky Mountain Raceway. If there was any televised race, you could find David sitting in his chair with the TV blaring - watching every lap. Only to be substituted with an even greater love, “My Cowboys”.
Dave loved his nieces and nephews, and later in life his great nieces and nephews. It could have been baseball, football, or hockey, he would try to be at everything. He was their biggest cheerleader!
One of David’s proudest moments was to be Papa to his adorable granddaughter, Neveah. He loved to share his joy of Ice cream and donuts with her, and he never went to visit without having a donut for her. When she was little her eyes lit up as her Papa came to visit. The past several years Nevaeh has excelled in softball and boy, was he proud! David was able to spend some time in St George three weeks ago with Nevaeh, Josh, and Kayla as Navaeh had another stellar softball tournament. It was the BEST week for all of them!
Terry Nish, and Servi-Tech, were a big part of Dave's life. Terry took David under his wing after his accident and gave him employment where he worked for Servi-Tech for 39 years and then moved over to J&M Innovation Products for Melanie and Jeff Nish. The Nish family has been so good to our David, and to the Morrison family. We are grateful for their love and friendship.
Dave had many friends throughout his life. You knew where you stood with Dave as he always spoke without a filter. We are so Thankful for each of you! We hear so many stories of how loved our Dave is; even at his Barbershop where we’ve heard countless stories. If you knew Dave, you loved Dave.
Dave is survived by his beautiful mother, Flo Morrison - his mini-me, Kayla Dee “MY KID” (Josh) - Shauna Brown “MY SISTER” (Dann) - his brother Kent Morrison – and his one only granddaughter Neveah. Additionally, there are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Kay Donald Morrison - His brother, Donald Kay Morrison - his nephew, Justin Kay Morrison - and both paternal and maternal grandparents.
