David Quintana passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on August 14, 2024.
Dave was born on March 8, 1932 to Jose and Luisa Vigil Quintana in Penasco, New Mexico. From a young age, he learned to work hard and provide for his family.
In 1952 Dave joined the Army and served in the Korean War. He earned two bronze stars and two national service awards. After his service, his sister Sally introduced him to the love of his life, Flora Medina. After three years, they married on September 29, 1956. They moved to Taylorsville, Utah where they raised three children, Marvin, Andy, and Pam.
Dave worked for Interstate Brick for 39 years where he remained a hard worker and made a wonderful life for his family.
Dave was a proud and devout member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. He loved his church and his community. He enjoyed any opportunity to help at the church. He also volunteered at the food bank and senior center for over eight years. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family, listening to Al Hurricane music, WWE wrestling, and he always had his furry companion Ally by his side.
Dave was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Everyone who met him loved him. He had a special bond with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He absolutely adored them. They loved to bring him diet coke and suckers which put a smile on his face instantly.
Dave is survived by his beautiful wife of 67 years Flora Medina Quintana; sister Dora (Jose); children Marvin (Sharie), Andy (Trisha), Pam (Tom); grandchildren Randi (Josh), Jessie (Matt), Christopher (Bailey), Domonic, Chandra; great-grandchildren Madison, Parker, Scarlett, Ares, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Luisa Vigil Quintana; sisters Sally (Pete) Garduno, Mary (Victor) Lopez, and Carlota Quintana.
The family would like to thank his nurse Char and Enhabit Health and Hospice for all of their great care and support, not only for him but all of his family.
