The world became a little less sparkly on Saturday, August 8, 2026, when Dean James Peterson passed away unexpectedly in the early morning. Dean was born on 11-22-88 to John and Lucy Peterson. He was a surprise who added so much joy and laughter to life! Dean was an uncle at 8 yrs old and he was the Best Uncle Ever!

Dean attended West Jordan High School and graduated from Dixie High School in St George. He worked at a lot of places, he was involved in a lot of things, and he lived a full life. One of his favorite things was Element 11. Most Importantly though, he was a DELIGHT! He was fiercely loyal and he will be missed EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

Dean is preceded in death by his mom, Lucy Peterson, and his brother, Sam Peterson.

He is survived by his father, John Peterson; his siblings, John (Toni), Steve (Robyn), Dawn (Jeff), and sister-in-law, Lisa; and his nieces and nephews, Emily, Johnny, Nate, Nina, Niki, Porter, Andi, Gavin, Jeffrey, Jackson, Kevin.

In addition to the loving family he was born into, Dean was blessed with a chosen family; his adopted siblings, Jared Yates Decker, Lang Rajsavong, Rebecca Green, Jessica Baker, Jordan and Shandi Lenaburg; and his adopted nieces and nephews; Skye Hansen, Ronin McDaniel, Karysma Moore and Polo Cowsert.

There will be a viewing on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 5:00pm - 7:00 pm at Memorial Mortuary 6500 S Redwood Rd. West Jordan, UT 84084. A celebration of life will be held in November.
