It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debbie Leone Kerby, who passed away peacefully on the evening of May 3, 2026.
Debbie was one of the strongest people many of us ever knew. She fought a long battle with breast cancer with grit, strength, stubbornness, grace, and determination, and never let it define who she was.
She loved camping, hunting, fishing, being outdoors, spending time with her puppies, and making memories with the people she loved. Debbie also spent many years working for Harper Excavating, where she built lifelong friendships and eventually retired after a long career there.
Life was not always easy for Debbie. She carried the heartbreaking loss of both of her children, Nicky and Jason, for many years, and anyone who knew her understood how deeply she loved them. While our hearts are broken losing her, there’s comfort knowing she’s finally reunited with them again.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nicky; her son, Jason; her mother, Edna; her father, Richard; and her brother, John.
Debbie is survived by her brothers, Richard (“Dick”) and Phil, and Phil’s wife Sharon; along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, bonus children she loved like her own, extended family, and friends who will miss her deeply.
The family would also like to give a special thank you to Rulon Harper and everyone at Harper Excavating for the kindness, friendship, support, and years of love shown to Debbie and our family.
Viewing services will be held Friday, May 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Redwood Mortuary, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m.
Debbie will be remembered for her grit, strength, humor, big heart, and the love she gave to the people around her. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. ❤️
