Delbert (Dell) Toone London, a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend passed away peacefully March 7, 2008 in Salt Lake City. He was born August 20, 1915 in Croydon, Utah to Alfred John & Caroline Chapman London. He attended school in Croydon, Devils Slide and Morgan. Dell spent his early years assisting his family in processing, selling and delivering milk and eggs to customers in Devils Slide by horse and buggy. After high school he was a school bus driver and always talked of the fun he had in being able to participate in many exciting excursions. After heeding the counsel of a prominent church leader, he decided to begin his studies in the "new and exciting" field of refrigeration. He completed his training in Chicago in 1939. He spent the next 55 years working in the refrigeration industry and retired at the age of 75. He received numerous accolades and was well respected and trusted by his peers and customers. Delbert married his best friend and sweetheart, Barbara Crouch, on October 10, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. Shortly after their marriage they moved to San Francisco before returning to Salt Lake to start their family. Delbert was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served two stake missions, Stake Seventies Quorum Presidency , Sunday School & YMMIA Presidencies. He served as a Ward Clerk of the Canyon Rim Second Ward for thirty years. Dell had a strong testimony of the gospel and great faith throughout his life. Dad was a true and living example of the Savior's teaching of "As I have loved you, love one another." He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, and five children Terry (Jeanine) London, Holladay, Jon (Sherri) London Salt Lake, Robert Scott London, Farmington, Debara (James) Child, Holladay and Shane (Robyne) London, Sandy and his daughter-in-law Lynette London of Porterville. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, eight brothers and sisters and his son Larry Ted London. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Canyon Rim 2nd Ward Chapel, 3000 South 3100 East at 11:00 am. Friends may visit with the family on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm. at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the funeral.
