Deloris Phelps Watson

Deloris P. Watson, age 91, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, in Sandy, Utah. She was born on April 8, 1935, in Filmore, Utah to Robert Phelps and Emma Laura Day. She married John Watson in June, 1971.

Known for her quiet strength and incredible perseverance, Deloris faced life’s challenges with grace and determination.

Long before it was the social norm, Deloris raised her two eldest daughters Sandra and Sammie as a single mother. During those years, her brothers and sisters served as her best friends and ultimate support system, forging a lifelong bond of love and loyalty. In 1971, her life blossomed beautifully when she met John Watson. The two were soon married, and a year later, they welcomed their daughter, Spring, into the world.

Deloris was a woman of many talents who found immense joy in the quiet, creative pieces of life. She loved gardening, crocheting, needlepoint and quilting. Over the years, she found great joy in curating a beautiful collection of porcelain dolls, a hobby that reflected her appreciation for elegance and detail. However, her greatest masterpieces were not made of yarn or fabric, but of love. More than anything else, Deloris loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her ultimate pride, and her greatest joy. Her legacy of unwavering love and resilience will live on in them.

Deloris is survived by her daughter Spring Taylor (Mike); her grandchildren Austin Taylor, Nicholas Taylor, Timothy McLee, Jason McLee, Kelly Feragen and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Tom Phelps of Soda Springs, ID and Ned Phelps of Newton, UT.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 7 siblings, her husband John and daughters, Sammie Martineau and Sandra Feragen.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
