Obituary

Denise Doreen Sanchez, born on July 12, 1965, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on August 8, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah, after bravely facing a hard battle against cancer. Denise’s life was one marked by strength, love, and a deep commitment to her family and friends.

Denise’s presence brought warmth and comfort to all who knew her. She lived the majority of her life in Salt Lake City, Utah where she made lasting memories and built the foundation of a life marked by caring, perseverance, and resilience. Throughout the years, Denise inspired those around her with her unwavering courage and her dedication to the people she loved most.

Denise leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory always. She is survived by her son Raymond Sanchez (Meranda), daughter Monica Sanchez, and Estevan Lopez (Erica), her son, whose connection to the family brought additional joy to Denise’s life. Her Fiancé Jobee Kirstine stands among those who feel the profound loss of Denise’s passing.

Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother to her two grandchildren, Mercedes and Raymond Jr. "RJ".

Denise is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Arsenio Lopez and Mercedes Lopez. She also mourned the loss of her beloved son, Baby Edward Gutierrez, and her cherished grandson, Chris Sanchez. Their memories remained a source of comfort and reflection throughout her life.

Those who knew Denise will remember her for her uncommon strength and although she could be a bit grouchy or tough at times, she loved her family deeply.

While Denise’s life was cut short by illness, her spirit endures in the lives of those she touched. Her presence will be deeply missed but forever honored by those who knew and loved her.

There will be a viewing held on Friday, August 21st from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Memorial Murray Mortuary, located at 5850 South 900 East Murray, Utah 84121. There will then be a Funeral Mass held at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at 11:00 AM, located at 7405 South Redwood Road West Jordan, Utah 84084. The burial will take place after the Funeral Mass at the Memorial Redwood Cemetery at 6500 South Redwood Road West Jordan, Utah 84123.
