Dennis Reed Hall

October 28, 1945 — February 6, 2024

Dennis Reed Hall, our brother and uncle, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in Clearfield, Utah. Dennis was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 28, 1945 to Astrid Lydia Stenersen and Emil Gilbert Harry Hall. Dennis had three older siblings, Gladys Reseigh, Gilbert Einar Hall, Stanley Hall, and one younger sister, Judith Jones.

Dennis spent the majority of his life living in Millcreek and Salt Lake City.  He graduated from Olympus High School, then joined the Marines and traveled to Camp Pendleton, San Diego for basic training. He worked for Grand Central, Utah Sand and Gravel, Gart Sports, and Comcast as a warehouse manager.

Dennis met Jenny Cook while working at Grand Central in Salt Lake City and they later married in 1973. They had many happy years together with their dogs Amos and Sonny, and remained friendly after they divorced in 1980.

Dennis enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved fishing, boating, hiking, hunting, climbing, and golfing with friends. He was also an adventurous chef, and enjoyed trying out recipes from around the world. Dennis loved music and enjoyed learning to play the acoustic and electric guitars. Some of his favorite concerts he attended included Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, and the Grateful Dead.

Dennis is survived by his brother Stanley Hall, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah.
