Dennis Leroy Jaynes, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 7, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born on December 4, 1943, and lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and deep love for his family.

Dennis was united in marriage to the love of his life, Susan Ray Jaynes, on December 30, 1966. Their marriage was a lasting testament to devotion, partnership, and enduring love.

He is survived by his children, Dennis M. Jaynes, Brenda Jaynes, and Sara Jaynes; his siblings, Gary Jaynes, Dianne (Billy) Morrison, Brian Jaynes, Curtis (Pat) Jaynes, Susan (John) Gilden, and Roger (Sandra) Jaynes; and many cherished grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his loving wife Susan Ray Jaynes, father, Lynn Arzie Jaynes; his mother, Marie Lucille Wenerstrom; his son, Lynn William Arzie Jaynes; and other beloved family members.

Dennis spent many years working at the Kennecott Copper Mine and also owned and operated his own roofing business. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in providing for his family.

In his free time, Dennis enjoyed fishing, reading, NASCAR, and cheering on his favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family and grandchildren, including his beloved furry pets, who brought him great joy and comfort.

Dennis also deeply cherished his friendship with his best friend, Bruce Hiller, whose companionship and loyalty meant a great deal to him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Memorial Redwood Mortuary; 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday, January 16, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Saturday one hour prior to services.

Interment; Memorial Redwood Cemetery. 

Dennis Leroy Jaynes will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.

The family would like to extend great appreciation and gratitude to his hospice care team, especially his nurse Collin who took such good care of our dad, you truly are an angel.
