Dennis M Moler

October 4, 1947 — January 19, 2024

Dennis Moler, our incredible Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, and Friend passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 19th, 2024.

Dennis was born on October 4th, 1947, in Long Beach, California to Lee and Jean Moler. He grew up with his older brother Leland, spending days surfing and working near the beach. His love of the beach continued throughout his life by listening to the Beach Boys and taking trips to California. In high school, he was a gymnast. He went on to attend Antelope Valley Jr. College in 1965. There he met the love of his life, Marilynn Cutler and they were soon married on June 8th, 1968, in Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verde, California.

Dennis was passionate about the law and aspired to become a police officer. In 1970, he graduated with a degree in Criminology. After graduating, he worked as a clerk for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He then became an agent in 1970, the year he and Marilynn welcomed their first daughter, Tracy. As an agent he worked in Texas, where their second daughter Wendy was born. They then travelled to Iowa where they completed their family when their third daughter Debby was born. In 1977, he was transferred to Salt Lake City, Utah where he would stay to raise his family. Dennis was an amazing agent who loved his work. He was organized, disciplined, and dedicated in all that he accomplished. He was so dedicated, in fact, that when asked about certain cases or experiences he would tell his grandkids “That’s classified information.” When he did share stories about his time in the Bureau and working undercover, we would all listen intently, in awe of him and the life he led.

Dennis retired from the FBI in 2002, and ever since he spent a great deal of time with his family and friends. During these years, he could often be found behind the lens of a camera and loved capturing memories. His family often took trips back to California, where he would reunite with his best friends Mike and Maureen Beck. While the grandkids ran off to play on the beach, Dennis and Mike would find a nice seat with a view to watch the waves and reminisce about life. Dennis was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and a wicked sense of humor. His unending love and jokes will be missed dearly. He would always say “I’ve had a wonderful life,” and a wonderful life it sure was.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Marilynn, and three daughters, Tracy Quayle (Art), Wendy Lewis (Jason), Debby Walker (Brett), Brother, Leland and his 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In typical Dennis fashion, there are no services planned. There will be a celebration of life in the Summer with family with details to be determined.
