Devere “Dee” Franklin Jacobsen

June 10, 1931 — August 5, 2023

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on August 5, 2023 at Meadow Peaks Assisted Living at the age of 92. Dee was born on June 10, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ariel and Lucile Bird Jacobsen. He graduated from South High School in 1949. Dee proudly served in the United States Armed Forces in Korea and returned to marry the love of his life Wilma Fenning Jacobsen on June 10, 1952. Wilma picked his birthday as their wedding date so “he would never forget”.
Dee always led by example and worked hard anywhere he was or whatever he was doing. He had an engineer’s mind and the ability to figure out anything he put his mind to. His many years of work at Sperry Univac Unisys provided for his family and showed his dedication and love.
Dee had many hobbies. He loved to golf and spent his retirement years mowing greens at Meadowbrook Golf course. He was a Champion Marksman and said the key to his success was reloading his own ammo which provided the precise flight of the bullet to the target. Early on, he spent countless days with his family hunting, fishing and relaxing at his cabin in Oakley, Utah which was Wilmas’s favorite place.
Dee is survived by his children Shauna Montenez (Jerry), Cheryl Draudt (Bob), Brent Jacobsen (Mallai), Brian Jacobsen, Mark Jacobsen (Kay), Devie Short (Bill), Carol Roumpos (George); 15 grandchildren & over 20 great grandchildren; His brothers Mike Jacobsen, Dan Allred & Avery Allred. All who loved and cherished him.
Dee is preceded in death by his wife Wilma, daughter Debora Ann and second wife Corinne.
The family would also like to thank all who cared for Dee at Meadow Peak Assisted Living and the nurses & aides at Elevation Hospice.
Visitation & Services will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary & Cemetery, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah 84070. Visitation will also be held August 15 at 9:30 AM prior to the 11:00 AM Interment at Lake Hills.
