Diana Kay Baumgart, 74, of West Valley City, Utah, passed away on August 15, 2025, after a recent struggle with health challenges. She was born on February 7, 1951, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, to Charles and Florence Cooley. On August 14, 1971, she married the love of her life, Byron Baumgart, and together they built a beautiful life and family.
Diana had a creative spirit and a generous heart. She found joy in ceramics, gardening, and cake decorating, and loved sharing her talents with family and friends. She enjoyed walks with her dear friends and cherished the simple connections that filled her days with meaning.
For decades, Diana was devoted to Scouting, serving in many positions throughout the years. Her dedication was honored with the prestigious Silver Beaver Award, a reflection of her lifelong commitment to service and community.
Diana is survived by her husband, Byron; sons Chad D., Shane A., Dustin L., and Brett A.; sister, Janice (Red) Whiting; and grandson Owen C. Baumgart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Florence Cooley, and her brothers, David, Michael, and Jerome Cooley.
Diana will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her family and community.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at noon at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
