Diane Loumis

Diane Loumis of Sandy, UT passed away peacefully on October 28th, 2022 with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Diane M. Gallegos was born in Kenilworth, UT to Thomas & Edna Gallegos on March 18, 1952. She was the third of five children with two older sisters & two younger brothers. She grew up in Salt Lake City, UT and attended both West High & South High Schools.
Diane enjoyed traveling on cruise ships & airplanes to far away places but preferred to vacation closer to home, especially in New Mexico, her family’s native land. She enjoyed spending time with all of her extended family, especially at her mom’s Friday night dinners. Diane was also a wonderful cook just like her mom. Jim & Diane owned a beautiful condo in Mesquite, NV that was a nearby retreat. They delighted in bringing family along to enjoy the warmer weather, playing with their grandkids relaxing by the pool & going to bingo.
Diane is preceded in death by both of her parents, her brother Tommy Gallegos and her nephew, Isaac Martinez. She is survived by her loving partner of 47 years, Jim Georgelas, her children Johnny Loumis III, Jenny Loumis & Kristina Packer (Jefferson), her grand-daughters Adriana Loumis, Mary & Nina Packer, her sisters Lillian McComas (Don), Geraldine Valdez (Ross), and her brother, Ben Gallegos. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite cancer research foundation.
Funeral services will be held November 3,2022; 2:00 pm at Memorial Redwood 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, Utah, A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment to follow services. This will be a private family event.
