Don "Bart" Barton Longmore

October 22, 1955 — May 29, 2025

Bart Longmore passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, May 29th, 2025. He was 69 years old.

Bart was born on December 22, 1955, to his parents, Don and Mary Longmore, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a good baby who grew up to love camping, skiing, and playing with the neighborhood kids. He was very loved by his parents.

On August 13, 1976, Bart married his sweetheart, Barbara. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 27th, 1982.

Bart and Barbara welcomed six beautiful children into their home in Kearns, Utah. There, they taught their children to be frugal, hardworking, and independent. They took many camping trips, played Pictionary, and often sang their family favorite, Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree.

He worked hard to provide for his family. One profession that he remembered fondly was working for Winder Dairy as a milkman. He enjoyed delivering bottles of milk from house to house. Bart also worked for many years and eventually retired as a school bus driver for Granite School District. He was and forever will be “Mr. Bus Driver.”

Bart has always been a very accomplished person. He comes from a long line of wonderfully artistic people. He was very talented in many mediums, including sewing, welding, woodworking, and, in particular, painting. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes with his dad and son. He was a lover of the outdoors, spending hours mountain and road biking, camping, and hiking. He was especially fond of City Creek Canyon. Bart also loved spending time with his family, his grandchildren in particular. He loved to tease them, do funny things to make them laugh or scream, make them homemade pixie sticks, teach them how to paint or draw, play ping pong, cook pancakes, play Wii bowling, make things like handmade knives, and choose gifts from the treasure box. He taught them how to properly take care of or fix their bikes and took them on countless bike rides.

His adventures during his lifetime included living in Maui in 1972 to pick pineapples, being selected to participate in a School Bus Rodeo in Connecticut in 1991 after winning 2nd place in Utah. On a trip to the Oregon coast, Bart was one of those amazing people seen sitting on the beach, painting a beautiful coastal scene. He also headed down the southern coast to watch his daughter get married on a Californian beach.

Bart is survived by his wife, Barbara, their children Don (Stephanie, Kason, Harlee), James (Kelly, Grace, Lauryn, Joshua), Jacque (Danny, Tristan, Duke, Bodhi, Pamela), Aaron (Sassy, Andrik, Colter), and Michelle, his mother, Mary, and his siblings Maryann (Luther), Michael (Debbie), Paula (Grig), Daniel (Lynette), David, Karyl (Jesse).

Bart is preceded in death by his esteemed father, Don Carol Longmore, his cherished daughter Pamela Nicole Longmore, and his beloved dog, Pookie.

Funeral services will be held on June 5th, 2025, at the LDS chapel located at 5422 South Sarah Jane Drive, Kearns, Utah 84118. A short viewing will be held, starting at 10 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m.
