"Just Like Uptown"

Our dear loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend returned to his heavenly home on June 13, 2012. He was born at home to Heber Jones and Axerlina Johnson Jones in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 20, 1919 into a family of 1 brother and 4 sisters who all have preceded him in death. He married Flora Ellen Covington on December 15, 1940 in Tooele, Utah, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had 4 children.

Don worked at Kennecott at the smelter in Magna and roofed many homes in the Salt Lake Valley. He enjoyed spending time with family at their cabin in Oakley, and working in his workshop building many treasures for his family. In later years he enjoyed making hats on a loom and giving them to family, friends, or anyone he ran into. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed visits from his grandchildren and precious great-grandchildren.

We love him and will miss his kindness to all and his fun sense of humor.

Don is survived by his children, James (Patricia), Ellen (Marvin) Salt, Cathy (Robert) Garner; 7 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; wife; and infant son, Richard Carl.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cottonwood 10th Ward, 4930 South Westmoor Rd (1665 E.), where friends and family can visit from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
