Donald “Wally” E. Mccomas

March 3, 1946 — July 29, 2023

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on July 29, 2023 at Intermountain Medical Center surrounded by his wife and family. Don was born on March 3, 1946 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Evelo “Jean” and Robert McComas Jr. Don proudly served in the United States Air Force and then married Lillian Gallegos on January 12, 1974.
Don enjoyed going fishing but for some reason the fish never made it home. In truth he enjoyed sharing them with family and catch-n-released others. He was good at and liked to golf and also did some bowling on different leagues with Lil and friends where they even won 1st-Place on a work league. Don traveled a lot with Lil to many international destinations and enjoyed many cruises together. Friday night poker games with family were a favorite of his whether it was with friends or family get-togethers. Don enjoyed watching other sports with family cheering on the Utah Jazz, University of Utah Utes, and the Green Bay Packers.
Don always led by example and worked hard anywhere he was at or whatever he was doing. His many years of work provided for his family and showed his dedication and love to us. His grandsons always enjoyed his stories and pictures he would show them of his time serving in the Air Force or when he was growing up on a farm. Don will be missed by many and there will never be anyone else like him.
Survived by Lillian, his wife of 49 years; his son, Gino Erevia; three grandsons, Landon, Jace and Bryce; his brother Robert McComas and many extended family members and friends who loved him. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jean McComas.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, 11:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Visitation to be held at 10:00 AM prior to the service. Burial to follow.
